about
The Pandemics are an 8 piece high energy ska band that mixes together Ska with elements of Punk Rock/Reggae/Jazz/Swing and more into an infectious high adrenaline dance party! Hailing from New York City, Long Island and Westchester, the devastation of Hurricane Sandy hits close to home having left several band members without power for more than 2 weeks and others whom are still coping with the after affects of the super storm. That said, the band can think of no more fitting tribute to the city and region it proudly calls home than their tune Sleepy Sunday (New York City). The song is about many an impossibly late Saturday night bleeding into the tranquility of Sunday morning; their favorite time to be in the city. Why early Sunday morning? Because the hustling and bustling metropolis of Manhattan transforms into a virtually empty ghost town, absent of the chaos of the work week and raucous nights out. It is this calm and peacefulness that provides the perfect backdrop for a truly one of a kind New York City experience known to a relatively select few. You can find more information about the band on their website/facebook page: www.thepandemics.net
